“Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson

The images on this page have all been the result of being in the right place at the right time and having a camera to hand....

More importantly, however, is respect for nature and the environment above the requirement for the photograph.

White Tailed eagle

August 2022

Many years ago, back in 1979, I spent a summer on Rum and was involved in a number of the then Nature Conservancy Council projects. One of these was the original White Tailed Eagle reintroduction programme, then in its third year.

Some 43 years later, I was fortunate to see and photograph one of the current eagles on Mull, last week, courtesy of a boat trip with Mull Charters. Despite the poor weather, it's always a great experience to view these magnificent birds close up.

Red squirrels

The Black Isle is one of the strongholds for red squirrels and we're very fortunate to have them in our garden every day. Watching their antics through the year is a very enjoyable experience, especially when the young are introduced to the feeders by their parents their first time.
